Prof. dr. habil. Aurelian Bălăiță, PhD has been the rector of the “George Enescu” National University of Arts Iasi since 2020. He’s an actor and a director and his performances, mostly in animation theater, have been awarded with important national and international distinctions. He is a UNITER member, an ARACIS evaluator expert, a member of the CNATDCU– Performing Arts Commission. In 2018, he was awarded the UNITEM Award for Best Children’s Show (The Snowman Who Wanted to Meet the Sun). He is the author of several important books: The art of shadow play (2007), An incursion in the animation theater (2007), Scenarios for animation theater (2008) etc. and numerous studies published in specialized magazines from Romania and abroad. From 2016 to 2020, he was the director of the Doctoral School of Theatre in Iași. Since 2013 he has been a PhD supervisor, developing the research areas of Spectacology and Theatrology.
