On Wednesday, November 30, at the Studio Hall of the Faculty of Theater of the “George Enescu” National University of Arts Iași, from 5 p.m., Dragoș Buhagiar, in the dual role of scenographer and president of UNITER, will hold the conference “Our theater of all days”.
Dragoș Buhagiar is considered the most important Romanian scenographer of the moment. With a prodigious activity, validated by numerous national and international awards, he became president of UNITER in the spring of this year. “It is an honor that Dragoș Buhagiar accepted the invitation of the Doctoral School of Theater in Iasi. I think it is important for our PhD students and students to meet such high-profile theater professionals firsthand, to engage in dialogue with them and, why not, to take them on as professional role models. The level that Dragoș has reached as a stage designer and, at the same time, the remarkable modesty that he has kept recommend him as an artist of a very high quality”, stated Călin Ciobotari, the director of the Doctoral School of Theater Iași.
The event takes place within the program of the National Conferences of the Doctoral School of Theater Iași, coordinated by conf. univ. dr. habil. Călin Ciobotari, being the fourth edition of this year. Along with Dragoș Buhagiar, director Radu Afrim, Shakespeareologist George Volceanov and playwright Elise Wilk also lectured in 2022.
