Constantin Stanciu, a recognized and esteemed musician on the Romanian musical scene, is both a concert soloist for viola and a member of the VOCES quartet. He is a professor and a qualified PhD supervisor at UNAGE Iași. His performances include numerous chamber concert tours in the country and abroad: USA, Canada, England, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Russia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece, Norway, Austria, Germany, Belgium.
He held courses in instrumental mastery and chamber music interpretation, becoming an honorary professor at: Coesfeld – Germany (1985 – 1988); Cluj-Napoca – Gheorghe Dima Music Academy (since 1996); Würzburg – Germany, at the Musikhochschule (since 1997); Kerkrade – Holland, at “Orlando Festival” (regularly, since 1997).
His students have been awarded numerous prizes at national and international competitions, and the alumni of his viola class enjoy exceptional teaching and artistic careers.
As a PhD supervisor, his research areas dwell on chamber and solo-instrumental musical creations belonging to all historical periods, focusing mainly on composers who are less known in Romania.
